Isaiah 43:19
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert”.

Taken from the blog of:  Rachelle Call (see "A Night In Recovery" post)

"I remember some very specific days in my recovery process that spoke to me on a very deep spiritual level.  I had been doing the therapy thing for years.  I was paying professionals by the dozen to listen to me and give me answers….much like I would buy other services.  I like an outfit, I buy it.  I am buying clothes.  I need new teeth (which happens every 7 years), I pay a dentist to do the work.  I am buying teeth.  In my mind, it was the same with therapy and therapists.  I like to feel better, I pay you to tell me what’s wrong.  I am buying answers.

So this had gone on for a long time.  And while I was beginning to understand more about why I felt so bad, I still kind of felt bad.  I KNEW I had the capacity to feel more joy and more peace….I just could NOT get to it.  One day, I was in my therapists office telling him about the most recent conversation with my husband.  We were going on 10 months of separation at that point and I was frustrated by the fact that I COULD NOT figure out how to be in the same room with him.  My dh had recently called me and asked if I could visit him in Pasedena, California for a couple days (which I know was a huge stretch for him).  I was like….ummm…are you kidding me? Where did that come from and how dare you?  I was still waiting for XYZ to be completed before I would give him that kind of time and energy.  My therapist was worried too.  He said he didn’t really feel good about it….something about giving a reward too soon.   But here’s the thing:  I had been reading some books in addition to all the therapy (and going to seminars in addition to reading the books).  I was learning some very knew concepts like, “whatever you focus on will grow “and “what is my ultimate payoff for having a husband to complain about all the time”.   So these thoughts were beginning to take some form.  In fact, they had taken root enough that when I walked out of the therapists office that day…I had already decided to do it.  I was challenging my therapists recommendations for the very first time.  I didn’t want to.  I wanted to continue pleasing my counselor with what a good student I was.  I always did everything I was asked…and then some.  If I was asked to read a chapter….I read the whole book..along with another book of my choosing.  I wanted to impress them all.  I wanted them to be “pleased by my progress”.

But it was coming to an end.  I called my husband that day and said…”You know what?  I’d love to come see you.  My therapist doesn’t think I should, but I’m going to do it anyway.”  My dh was floored.  It was a complete 180.  My thinking was….maybe I should change my approach and try something new, because what I had been doing for 5 years was not working.  So I went to Pasedena…..armored with prayer, my scriptures, a couple of energy therapy cd’s that I would need to listen to while dh was at work (for like six hours…I was still obsessing a bit),  a book called Energy Medicine….and courage.  I remember walking around at the Paseo Colorado mall alone (while dh was at work) when this feeling hit me out of nowhere.  I would say that a glimpse of “something new” came over me.  I felt like this place was familiar and I was supposed to be there at that very second.  I KNEW I had done the right thing.  I knew I was heading in the right direction, because God had just given me His approval.  And that felt different than ANY other source of approval I had ever sought after.  Decision confirmed."

You are invited to a special event that will feature music as a healing tool along with first-person stories from those who have overcome addictions! A Night In Recovery

Gilbert, Arizona (April 14, 2011)  Bringing hope to those trapped by addictions – from pornography to alcohol and drug abuse – addiction counselor and singer/songwriter Rachelle Call will present “A Night in Recovery” Thursday, April 14 in Gilbert.  It will be held at the Gilbert Community Center from 7-9 p.m. in the Oak Room. The event is free.

This unique evening immerses the audience in powerful, affirmative music as well as special guest appearances from members of the Gilbert community sharing their own stories of addiction recovery. It is for anyone associated with a 12-step or celebrate recovery program or for friends and family members wishing to assist loved ones struggling with in an addiction problem.

Call said “A Night in Recovery,” sponsored by R Legacy Entertainment, was designed to accelerate the recovery process by focusing on the hope and healing part of recovery rather than “victimhood” and its self defeating behaviors that invite a never ending cycle of shame and guilt.  “People struggling with addiction are often filled with guilt and shame. They feel like losers,” said Call. “A Night in Recovery emphasizes hope and shines the spotlight on individuals who are putting their lives back together or are on a more positive pathway. It’s a place for those in addiction recovery to talk, tell their story, and feel the positive effects that music can have on the heart and mind.”

Did you know that addictions actually change your brain, and that your pre-frontal cortex (your reasoning and thinking area) diminishes in size and function as your addictions grow?

How different would your life be if you found that you had:

* 5+ hours per day to do something good for your life?
* the ability to say no to things that destroy your financial stability
* relationships of trust and warmth
* self confidence and self love
* more job opportunities

You are invited to a free workshop, given by Garrin Griffitts, MSW, LMSW, counselor and life coach, Tuesday, April 12, 7-8:30 pm.  Please RSVP to xstreamlifemakeover@gmail.com

The Address is:  591 E Elliot Rd, Gilbert, AZ (west of Gilbert Rd, east of Lindsay, adjacent to the canal on the south side - with a white vinyl fence around the 60-year old home).

Each day we CREATE an entirely NEW day!  Whatever it is - is our creation!  No matter what happens to us, what happens around us, or what we choose to spend our time thinking and doing, it is our THOUGHTS that have a greatest impact on what our life will be (that day).  When we add each day (of thinking and doing) it becomes the sum of our life!

1.  We operate out of our subconscious minds up to 90% of our lives, unless we learn to check and change our thinking.
2.  Our subconscious mind is created from a) genetics, b) in-utero experiences from our parents, c) Our infant and child life (that we remember nothing about, d) negative experiences and things that kids or adults said or did that hurt us.
3.  The divine beings that we are include the opportunity to CHOOSE!  We are not locked into our subconscious thoughts and the life that they create!
4.  We LEARN to THINK CONSCIOUSLY - to CHOOSE the thoughts that we will entertain - because ultimately they will determine what our life will be.
5.  We have the gift of CHOICE - to increase our ACTIONS and THOUGHTS from our pre-frontal cortex (our conscious mind) - and to reduce the "automatic" thoughts that come in from the subconscious to undo our highest opportunities and a joyful life (no matter what our circumstances).

TODAY CHOOSE TO THINK GOOD AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS, DO GOOD AND POSITIVE ACTIONS  (it can be as simple as smiling at people, walking in the spring weather and feeling this beautiful world, doing something for someone else, or just recognize a thought that doesn't serve your life and not allowing it to creep in anymore)!  CREATE YOUR DAY AMAZINGLY - and when you fall apart - START OVER!

Who's chicken - not me!  I LOVED this picture and feel a connection to the rooster - walking with its head held high, despite its feathers plucked, ripped, missing and in disarray.  This amazing being is focused on his goals and is not worrying about where he came from, but WHERE HE IS GOING!  When we are "war-torn" we are beautiful - and we will HEAL - we will REGENERATE!  We are God's greatest miracles and we are in CONSTANT REPAIR - as we allow it to happen!

Today was miraculous!  I met with Tracy Zollinger, and then with Debbie Johnson, two amazing women, who like this rooster, know where they are going and who they are!  They helped me get this DREAM alive - and tonight my heart is so full it's about to burst.  That tells me that what we are doing is right!  Thank you amazing friends, and thank you Heavenly Father for opening the way and for allowing us to serve!

Today was the birth of XSTREAM LIFE MAKEOVER!  This blog will be updated regularly with WORKSHOPS, CLASSES and TOOLS for creating amazing lives!  We are praying that many will be blessed, even if they cannot attend our workshops and group coaching sessions - by following the teachings that we will share.  This is what XStream stands for:

X = Leaving past dysfynctions behind
S = Starting today - again - as often as needed
T = Treating myself and all others as "divine"
R = Recognizing my successes and God's miracles
E = Enduring tests and trials with faith
A = Attitude of Gratitude - recognizing the good around me
M = Meaningful and lasting relationships - building them daily

May you be determined to create your very best life!

OUR WISHES FOR YOU TODAY!  Focus on doing something good for someone today!  If an entire day is too long to manage, then focus on 15 minutes!  Re-check yourself again in 15 minutes!  Create happiness!  It's the BOOMERANG principle!  What you give out comes back to you!

May there be peace within.
May you trust God  that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you recognize that you are learning from these experiences.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received.
May you pass on the love (any love) that has been given to you.
May you be confident knowing you are a child of God.
May you let His presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
